  1. More and more Black people are flocking to China, and Baoshan District is no exception. I hardly ever go out, but even when I do, I encounter Black people in Baoshan. Of course, besides Black people, there are people from many other countries. For example, I understand English and can distinguish between Russian and German, so I know who is from the UK/US, who is Russian, and who is German. After all, China's basic national policy is economic openness to the outside world, so encountering so many international friends in Baoshan District of Shanghai is not surprising at all.

In the past 4-5 years, that is, from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to the end of the lockdown decided by the Xi Jinping government, i.e., 2021-2022, countless babies were born in Baoshan District.

    How do I know this?

Because whenever I go out, whether by the river, in a shopping mall, in a coffee shop, even in a park, or on a bus, I encounter adults with children.

And those adults are with children who are probably only 2 to 3 years old.

The estimated birth dates of these 2-3 year old children roughly correspond to the period since the outbreak of the pandemic.

These children and adults, without exception, are all from out of town. It's almost certain they are members of farming families.

This is because these children and adults have very dark skin and unattractive features.

I've always felt that China's population is overpopulating, producing a large number of children with unattractive appearances and poor skin. I'm very curious, during the pandemic when everyone was out of work and under lockdown, how did these couples manage to conceive and then openly go to the hospital's obstetrics and gynecology department to give birth?

Baoshan District has always been different from other areas of the city. While the city's original residents are xenophobic, Baoshan is the most inclusive. The city's original residents are sophisticated, while Baoshan is somewhat rustic.

However, the spending power of the out-of-towners in Baoshan is still quite strong. Men and women who look like farmers can drive brand-new luxury cars and live in newly built apartments. I can't help but wonder, when Li Keqiang said that 600 million people in China have a monthly income of only 1000 yuan, who was he referring to? In any case, the local farmers in Baoshan District are not the aforementioned groups, nor are the migrant workers in Baoshan District who resemble farmers.

    1. The distribution of economic benefits in China rests with Zhu Rongji and Jiang Zemin, who are in charge of China's finance. Therefore, it can be inferred that the high-consumption lifestyle of the migrant workers who resemble farmers in Baoshan District stems from the economic decisions of Jiang and Zhu. I don't believe that foreign capital would foot the bill for the lifestyle of these migrant workers who resemble farmers in Baoshan District. Because those high-spending migrant workers in Baoshan District can't even speak fluent Mandarin. They have no chance of interacting with foreigners.

I also have no chance of interacting with foreigners. But I still frequently encounter foreigners when I go out.

Foreigners and people from other parts of China have become the main consumers in Baoshan District. The native Baoshan residents don't consume much except for food.

Originally, I didn't dislike people from other parts of China or foreigners. But after three or four decades, the reality I've witnessed is that people from other parts of China and foreigners have been enjoying a life of luxury and extravagance in China, while the living standards of locals haven't improved for decades. Isn't that strange?

I recall a point I made on my blog before: I suspected that Germany's involvement in World War II was orchestrated by higher decision-makers to force people to settle around the world, thus achieving social diversity. Currently in China, especially in Baoshan District, allocation decisions are also designed to achieve diversity. However, in reality, wealthy, farmer-looking migrants mostly find their partners within their own hometown circles.

After all, human destiny is merely that of a human battery. The purpose of diversity is simply to reduce the suffering from genetic diseases and extend the battery's lifespan.

The current reality is that some batteries simply have better food, clothing, and housing—everything is better. But the battery's fate remains that of a battery, just as higher decision-makers can decide who starts a war and who lives or dies in it. In short, whether battery or pawn, don't get too caught up in the drama.
